Lectures, Tours, Concerts, Exhibitions

The Ionic Centre organizes cultural events and educational activities open to the general public: lectures, poetry readings, book launchings, art exhibits, music concerts and theater evenings. Organized are, also, walking tours of special cultural and historical interest about the Acropolis and Plaka.

Lectures

Lectures on various scientific and cultural topics – on history, politics, art, religion, society, life – complement the Program of Hellenic Studies, and the Hellenic Seminars in particular.

Peripatetic Lectures

Peripatetic Lectures, in the steps of the ‘School’ of Aristotle, are conducted on a variety of topics of philosophic, scientific and cultural interest. Participants meet at The Ionic Centre building on Lysiou 11 and are lead to a walk and discussion through the appropriate open areas surrounding the Acropolis, the Agora and the Plaka.

Participation Fees

Attendance to the Cultural Activities and Events program is generally open and free. However, there are certain lectures and educational and cultural activities where a Participation Fee is required, so as to offset part of the organizational costs. Fees generally range between 10 to 25 euro per activity.

Application and Registration

An individual may apply to register and participate in The Ionic Centre pprograms by filing an application form accompanied by a fee of 25 euro.
